The answers keep coming in to our on-going Let’s Ask questions.
As a reminder, Echo is offering at no charge, access to our database and the participants that follow us on social media. We will facilitate the programming, hosting and data-collection of any three open or closed-ended questions. You will receive the raw data and the analyzed results will be shared publicly on our social media and in a newsletter.
The hope, as we’re all getting many questions about how best to behave in relation to research, is to gain some clarity to help our clients (and ourselves) make educated decisions on what the right path forward is.
Here is the latest round.
Echo Market Research surveyed 2,191 US consumers on how their typical shopping behavior has changed since the outbreak, what their favorite household brands can be doing to help and how the government can better handle the current situation.
“Buying more shelf stable items and frozen items to avoid having to go to the store too often.”
“I am stocking up on a lot more non-perishables, cleaning supplies and other goods that I would need if a ‘shelter in place’ order was passed.”
“I have purchased a lot more food to have on hand than I typically do! We usually eat out more and don’t mind going to the grocery often. I want to limit my exposure in the grocery store now and be prepared with food for a couple weeks.”
“Not really. I think major companies have responded appropriately. I have received many notices.”
“They could be increasing production to make sure that they are producing more of the high-demand items that are needed, like essential foods and sanitary products. They can also donate more of these items to hospitals, homeless shelters, food banks, and other organizations in high need.”
“I think they are doing the best they can with new and changing information. I don’t think anyone knows 100% how to best handle it.”
“Testing needs to improve drastically. We need to identify and quarantine the infected individuals.“
Most of the actions taken should have happened much sooner. They could also work in a more unified manner.”
“Providing emergency unemployment extensions and paid leave to everyone affected by this virus rather physically, financially or emotionally. Process a monetary stimulus package to help those in desperate financial need.”
